Welcome to Caledonia Golden Retrievers!
Caledonia is the name originally used by the Romans and currently used poetically or romantically to describe Scotland. My use of the name is a tip of the hat to the birthplace of our family’s two favorite passions ~ the game of golf and the dogs we are fortunate to share our lives with, our Golden Retrievers.
Caledonia Golden Retrievers is located in Coventry, CT. We have a small number of dogs which are first and foremost part of our family. We breed only occasionally and our goal with any litter is to produce sound, healthy puppies with true Golden temperament. We work towards this by studying pedigrees, structure, health issues and genetics, nutrition and behavior. We train and handle our dogs in multiple venues including Conformation, Obedience, Field, Therapy Work, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, etc. We only breed dogs who have been cleared from genetic health issues and have been successfully judged against the breed standard.
Christine is President of the Connecticut River Valley Golden Retriever Club, and member of the Golden Retriever Club of America , Southern Berkshire Golden Retriever Club and the Windham County Kennel Club
